How do I place an order?
Orders can be placed in person at the parlour or via phone. A non refundable deposit of 25% is required at time of booking with the remaining balance to be paid two weeks before collection date.
We accept payment in the parlour, via phone using a credit or debit card (including AMEX) as well as BACS transfers.
Please note that your order will only be confirmed with payment of deposit and that we reserve the right to continue taking orders for a given date until payment is received.
How far in advance do I need to place my order?
We usually recommend that you book your cake as early as possible! The more notice you give, the greater the chance you’ll secure a date in our diary.
My friend or relative baked a cake, can you decorate it for me?
Unfortunately we aren’t able to decorate cakes that aren’t baked by ourselves. Although we’re sure they are tasty and it can mean a lot to family/friends, we unfortunately cannot guarantee what the cake contains with regards to allergies and aren’t able to say where the ingredients were sourced. Should something then be wrong with the cake it could prove damaging to our reputation and business.
Do you offer wedding cake tastings?
We certainly do! Our usual process for wedding cakes are to have a consultation where we will discuss ideas, what you’re looking for etc. Once a design and price is confirmed we will then arrange a tasting where you’ll be required to pay 25% of your total to secure your date.
Alternatively, should you wish to book a tasting before a consultation there will be a charge of £25. Should you then wish to proceed with a booking we will still require 25% of your total booking to secure your date but the £25 will be deducted from your bill.
Can I change my order/design?
Where possible we will accommodate any changes you wish to make to your order at our discretion and charge you for the additional costs incurred. As wedding cakes require longer lead-times we ask that changes be made no less than 4 weeks prior to completion. Please note that any changes to your order must be confirmed in writing or by email.
Can I cancel my order?
Should you choose to cancel your order more than 3 weeks before completion, please note that the holding deposit is non-refundable and any specifically ordered items and work already undertaken in accordance with your order is additionally chargeable. For orders cancelled within the 3 weeks of the completion date, the full balance will be charged.
Will you deliver and/or set up my cake?
As part of our service we offer personal delivery and set-up with wedding cakes only, all other cakes must be collected from the parlour unless other wise arranged. We will liaise with your venue to schedule a delivery slot. Please note that once collected, the full responsibility for the safety of the order is with the client and The Great British Cupcakery Ltd are not liable for any damages thereafter.
Do you offer gluten free?
We do offer gluten free, however we do not offer this on a daily basis in the parlour so it’s best to ring us 24 hours prior to your visit to notify us of your dietary requirements.
Do you cater for nut allergies?
Unfortunately we cannot cater for nut allergies as we can not guarantee that our cakes and baked goods have not come in to contact with nuts.
